M-PESA Safaricom partners with Dahabshiil to enable Ethiopians abroad to send money directly to M-PESA wallets, promoting faster and safer remittances.
On June 27, 2025, M-PESA Safaricom announced a strategic partnership with Dahabshiil, a leading global money transfer company. The collaboration allows the Ethiopian diaspora to send money directly to M-PESA mobile wallets in Ethiopia, simplifying the remittance process with faster transfers and enhanced security.
“We are delighted to partner with Dahabshiil, a leading player in international money transfers. Together, we share a vision of financial inclusion and driving economic development,” said Anthony Kangethe, Acting Chief Digital Financial Services Officer at M-PESA Safaricom.
“This new service will offer Ethiopians a secure and convenient way to send and receive money, empowering individuals and families.”
Dahabshiil’s Ethiopia Representative, Musse Mohamed, added:
