Addis Ababa, Ethiopia – August 26, 2025 — State-run Ethio Telecom is projecting a 45.5% rise in revenue for the year ending June 2026, fueled by expanding mobile data use and digital financial services.


Subscriber Growth Outlook

The firm anticipates its customer base will climb 6% to 88 million subscribers, consolidating its position as Ethiopia’s dominant telecom provider.


Telebirr Expansion

Users of its Telebirr mobile money platform are expected to increase by 14%, underscoring the growing demand for digital payments in Ethiopia’s financial ecosystem.


Profit Performance in 2025

Last year, Ethio Telecom posted a pretax profit of 76 billion birr ($537 million), crediting its performance to wider network coverage and strong adoption of digital solutions.
