Stanbic Bank has appointed Dr. Joshua Oigara as Regional Chief Executive for East Africa, effective September 1, 2025.
Oigara, who currently serves as Chief Executive Officer of Stanbic Bank Kenya, will continue to lead the Kenyan unit while assuming his new regional responsibilities, pending regulatory approval.
He succeeds Patrick Mweheire, who steps down on August 31, 2025, after a five-year tenure as Regional Chief Executive. Mweheire will, however, remain as Chief Executive of Stanbic Kenya Holdings.
He has chaired the Kenya Bankers Association Governing Council and contributed to Kenya’s long-term economic planning through the .

Transition and Outlook
The leadership transition will take effect on September 1, 2025, enabling a smooth handover as Mweheire exits the role a day earlier.
