On 3 June 2025, Mayfair Insurance Company Limited, a key player in Kenya’s general insurance market since 2005, announced it has been upgraded to an AA‑(KE) national financial strength rating by Global Credit Ratings (GCR). The upgrade follows sustained profitable growth, improved capital reserves, and its bold expansion across Africa.

According to a 2024 report by Business Daily Africa, Mayfair outperformed the sector—posting 20.2% revenue growth against a 10% industry average. This reflects gains in gross premiums and smart cost management, reinforcing the company’s resilience in Kenya’s challenging insurance landscape.
