With five first-team players away on Harambee Stars duty for the CHAN Qualifiers, coach Leonardo Neiva was forced to rotate his squad. Despite a strong opening, Gor Mahia faltered in the second half against a fired-up City Stars side.

K’Ogalo took control early when Levin Odhiambo launched a thunderous 23rd-minute strike from distance, giving Gor a 1-0 lead and momentarily preserving their clean defensive record.

But the tide turned after halftime. Robinson Asenwa leveled the score in the 60th minute with a composed finish following a slick run through Gor Mahia’s backline. Just eight minutes later, former Gor player Dennis Oalo put City Stars ahead, expertly chesting in a cross from Asenwa.
