Leaders at Limuru III form the Haki Coalition, reaffirming Uhuru Kenyatta’s leadership and pushing back against Kenya Kwanza’s policies.
The Limuru III Conference brought together political leaders from the Mt. Kenya region to shape the region’s political and economic future. One major outcome was the launch of the Haki Coalition—a new alliance formed to protect the community’s interests. Former President Uhuru Kenyatta was reaffirmed as the region’s political figurehead.
At the conference, leaders strongly criticised the Kenya Kwanza government and Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua. Githunguri MP Gathoni Wamuchomba condemned what she termed as punitive taxation and neglect of the Mt. Kenya populace.
The Haki Coalition was presented as a symbol of unity and resistance. It aims to unite the region politically and economically across party lines. Martha Karua (NARC-Kenya) and Jeremiah Kioni (Jubilee) called for strategic partnerships to tackle regional challenges.
The leaders proposed ongoing dialogue, with follow-up regional meetings planned to consolidate ideas into a unified development and political strategy. These efforts are seen as crucial to reasserting Mt. Kenya’s influence in national politics.
